"Spirits of the Dead"

The past couple of months have been hectic to say the least. I attended CES in Las Vegas for the second year in a row with truMedic, and while it was a total blast, it really exhausted me. Since getting back I've prioritized working on the studio which recently, had modular set walls installed. The walls runs along 96 feet of track suspended from the ceiling to manipulate the environment however you want in just a few seconds. In the coming weeks, outlets will be installed along with studio LED panels with wireless DMX 512 control.

In the meantime, I shot this last night and finished cutting it by 2am. Carl's been a very good friend of mine for the past 8 years. he's a passionate theater actor and voice over artist. We decided to quickly shoot a reading of "Spirits of the Dead" by Edgar Allan Poe. I chose music composed by Ryuichi Sakamoto, Alva Noto & Bryce Dessner's from the movie, "The Revenant" because it fits well with the melancholy tone.

I shot everything at 4.6K resolution in ProRes at 23fps with an aspect ratio of 2.4:1. I used a Rode NT3 microphone into a Sound Devices 302 mixer and recorded with a Zoom H6 recorder. I shot in a flat profile and cut and colored in Adobe Premiere and tracked text in After Effects. BOOYA
