QUARANTINE 2020
I shot this using my Blackmagic Pocket camera, DJI Mavic Pro, and GoPro Hero 7. I composited all aerial shots in After Effects using Trapcode particular, shine, and Red Giant’s Universe plug-ins. A showcase of my time spent during quarantine.
The spread of COVID-19 has kept everyone home finding ways to keep busy as the nation maintains social distancing. Since the start of the pandemic I’ve been going down a list of small projects I’ve been meaning to work on. I ended up making a few interesting things like a sunshade for the Blackmagic pocket cinema camera 4K which has a fixed LCD, making shooting in daylight difficult. It attaches to 1/4” threading and folds on a hinge. The tikki torch was printed in PLA, installed with an LED tealight candle and painted. We also retrofitted an old Kamerar slider with a stepper motor and belt to add motorized control. Using an Arduino nano Ashley added various speed control for timelapse and shooting objects.
