Studio Work
My friend Ryan, who’s an aspiring actor and writer — swings by the studio weekly to write skits or music based off of trending media and comedy; and although working full time at Canon as a media specialist, he’ll always find time to brainstorm. I’d like this studio to be a means of expression through the many talented people I know, whether it’s music, video, photography, or whatever.
Our latest video is about a secretly obsessed Ariana Grande fan, which Ryan tries to hide from his bro friends. Ryan emailed me the script which we shot a week later once we got everyone together. I tried my best to mimic Ariana’s video for “No tears left to cry” with the result being pretty hilarious.
Although the studio isn’t 100% complete at this point, we’re still able to make use of our standing sets after hours to shoot. We’ll change sets and lighting to accommodate the script—which is why a studio environment is so great. We’re able to streamline the shooting process so we can work with a minimal amount of people on set. We can analyze takes immediately and start logging footage onto our local NAS for editing.
Eventually we’ll be able to crank out the same high quality work in a fraction of the time it would usually take due to this optimized way of shooting.
Ryan’s also considered a career as a world famous rapper…
