Labor Day 2019
My friend Gary and his wife Theanna invited us out onto a Mastercraft that was loaned to them for the weekend. I shot this video for instagram on a DJI Mavic Pro. I forgot batteries for my Blackmagic Pocket Cinema camera and instead shot video on my LG V30 since it shoots video with very wide dynamic range for a phone.
After several attempts, I managed to stand up and on the wakeboard and cruise around the bay. I had more fun using the surfboard to ride the wake since it can be done at a lower speed.
At the end of the day, we had to return the boat and load it onto the trailer so I got to drive through Port Jeff harbor while Garret surfed the wake. The ballast tanks were somewhat problematic with low tide approaching but Gary managed to ride steady into the harbor. Being able to drive such an incredible machine was pretty awesome.
Summer’s all about good times with friends and enjoying the great weather which only lasts a few months in New York. I always have a camera with me to capture these little experiences while staying in tune with camera technology and editing.
Cheers to Garret, Theanna, Doug and Marius for an awesome experience!
