Local Artists
Living on Long Island, you’re in the perfect location to meet some very talented & interesting people. I’ve worked with a lot of Artists and Musicians over the years, but my recent shoots with Photographer Patricia Paladines and Painter Charles Wildbanks truly left me in awe — proving that creative bar is always being raised.
A friend of mine at the Reboli Center in Stony Brook had asked me to shoot a few quick “run & gun” style interviews with a few local artists whose works would be on exhibit the coming weeks. Both interviews were shot in just an hour using the Blackmagic pocket cinema cameras and DJI RS2 gimbal using only existing lighting on location.
Charles Wildbank was born deaf, forcing him to communicate through doodles and drawings as a child. This ultimately led his passion for art and his amazing ability to achieve photorealism in his work. For his interview, I opted to shoot using an Aivascope 1.5x anamorphic lens, to give a better perspective on how large his custom canvases are. For audio, I run a Hollyland Lark 150 wireless mic system which is a beautifully simple product that mimics Apple Airpods, both in design and operation.
